- Determine the number of shares and their data and permission settings.
- Plan your data migration on a share-by-share basis. Each migration task in Morro Migrate pairs a source share with a destination Replicate share.
- Organize the folder structure and set the correct permissions on a local server before running Morro Migrate to save time during the migration process.
Step 2: Scan Your Data
- Define a migration task in Morro Cloud Manager using the Morro Migrate App.
- Use Morro Migrate SCAN to check the data on the local server for errors and assess data size.
Step 3: Migrate
- Start with Morro Migrate SEED to copy metadata from the local server to CacheDrive.
- After SEED completion, proceed to Morro Migrate UPLOAD. This uploads files to the cloud as a Replicate share.
- While in the Morro Migrate UPLOAD phase, users should avoid updating the source server and work with files exclusively from CacheDrive.
- If needed, conduct an Incremental Migrate after the initial UPLOAD.
- After the final UPLOAD is done, convert the share from a Replicate share to a Sync share and map it to other CacheDrives.
